The Chicago Fire Foundation is the non-profit branch of the Chicago Fire FC. Its goal is to support the city and citizens of Chicago by providing athletic and academic programs to underserved neighborhoods in the community. As a volunteer Marketing & Communications Chair of the Associates Board, I use social and digital media to spread awareness of the CFF’s mission, while also promoting events that help fundraise for future initiatives and programs.

For the CFF’s flagship event, FireTober Fest, I spread the message on social media via the Associates Board’s official Twitter channel. I also crafted copy for various social platforms in which board members could use to efficiently share with their personal networks. These included LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and email.

Another recent example is our annual Bracket Challenge, which raised nearly $2K in less than one week leading up to the 2021 NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Members used messaging from the CFFAB Social Media Toolkit to also solicit potential event sponsors and partners for prizes. We utilized Eventbrite to market the event, track purchases and distribute the bracket link from CBS Sports.
